40th Annual Housing California Conference
Track Descriptions and Convener Agreement
2019 marks the 40th anniversary of the Annual Conference. We ask conference participants to use this milestone year to envision a future California where no one is homeless and everyone can afford a safe, stable place to call home in a healthy, vibrant, and prosperous community. Help Shape the Future to meet this shared goal by participating in innovative, interactive workshops. We have marked particular workshops that push the field. Below, check out the tracks that will be offered. Some workshops may cross-reference multiple tracks, which you'll see noted in workshop descriptions once they're published.
By submitting a workshop or institute proposal for the 2019 Housing California Annual Conference, conveners must agree to complete the following activities by the identified deadlines if your proposal is accepted for inclusion in the conference program:
Pre-Conference Institutes take place on Monday, April 15 from 12 PM – 5 PM. Workshops take place Tuesday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 17. Conveners should ensure that invited speakers are available during these time frames. If there is a date and time frame when your group cannot be available, please email Donna Bisbiglia after you submit your proposal.
If your proposal is accepted, Housing California will notify conveners of the session date and time. Conveners must notify Housing California staff by February 1 if the session date/time no longer works for the group. After this date, we will be unable to move sessions.
Registration: Conveners are responsible for ensuring that speakers register for the conference by March 5 using one of the following ticket options:
Reduced Speaker Rate Ticket for Full Conference
Workshop Only – with lunch on the day of their session, no special events (e.g. networking receptions)
Workshop Only – no lunch, no special events (e.g. networking receptions)
Registration enables speakers to access the app, which will help draw participants to your workshop. Speakers can create a profile with a short bio that can be linked to your workshop description.
Presentations: Conveners are responsible for submitting the group’s PowerPoint presentation to Nur Kausar by March 14. The title of your workshop should be included in the email subject line. PowerPoints will be added to the website and app if submitted by the March 14 deadline. Conveners and speakers are responsible for their own printing of handouts and other materials
