Urge the Governor to Adopt His Ten Year Chronic Homelessness Action Plan
May 28, 2008
Nearly two years ago, homelessness advocates gathered in Asilomar, California, to help the governor craft the state's Ten Year Chronic Homelessness Action Plan. A draft of the plan was released more than a year ago; however, the plan has still not been formally adopted.
A number of legislators have joined homelessness advocates to find out why the plan still has not been formally adopted. Together, legislators and advocates held an informational forum on May 8, 2008, during which they questioned members of the administration on the plan's progress.
Housing California is sending a letter to the governor, urging him to assign a staff member to review all of last year's comments on the draft plan and to formally adopt the plan.
