New Republican Leader Knows Housing Issues
March 18, 2008Senate Republicans elected Senator Dave Cogdill of Fresno as their leader in February. He will officially replace Senator Dick Ackerman of Tustin on April 14, 2008.
Cogdill served in the Assembly from 2000 until his election to the Senate in 2006. In the Assembly, he sat on the housing committee and expressed support for the self-help model of homeownership.
Cogdill is eligible to remain in the senate until 2014, giving him the potential to be one of the longest-serving leaders since term limits took effect.
