Jacobs Sets First Permanent Source Regional Meetings
As we first reported on November 16, 2007, Lynn Jacobs, director of the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), is leading the administration's effort to find a dedicated revenue source (or "Permanent Source") for California's housing trust fund.
During the first six months of 2008, HCD will hold seven regional meetings throughout the state with key stakeholders in the business, education, environmental, local government, and the home-building communities.

Recommendation to Governor Expected by September 30, 2008
In July and August 2008, HCD will develop recommendations for the governor. HCD plans to submit a proposal to the governor no later than September 30, 2008.

Housing California and the CA Communications Campaign
In December, the CA Communications Campaign for Affordable Homes decided to engage ActionMedia to help the campaign Work Group create and test messages, train regional outreach teams, and develop training and educational materials Founded by two former reporters, ActionMedia works with progressive organizations to improve their communications with policymakers, the media, and the general public, In January and February, the campaign Work Group will develop and test the messages that will be used in the campaign's training/educational materials. These materials will be posted on the Housing California website and distributed widely throughout the state.
