Interagency Council Passes First Senate Policy Committee with Bipartisan Support
July 01, 2009AB 1177 (Fong), which would establish an Interagency Council on Homelessness in California, passed the Senate Human Services on a vote of 4-1 on June 23rd. AB 1177 will next be heard in the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee on July 7th.
Currently, more than 10 state agencies play a role in the delivery of homeless services. The establishment of an Interagency Council on Homelessness would help decrease the state's fragmented approach to preventing and ending homelessness, while also putting California on the path to increased federal funding.
- TAKE ACTION! Support Housing CA's efforts in the capitol to address our state's growing homeless population.
