Help Shape Prop. 1C's Infill Home Program:
Attend One of Five HCD Forums
From October 18 through November 2, 2007, the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) will sponsor five forums that offer local advocates and developers an opportunity to shape Prop. 1C's new infill home program.
Your voice is very important in these discussions! Other interests will be fighting to reduce the emphasis on affordability and loosen the funds' link to home development. Your participation can help prevent this misuse of precious bond dollars.
For HCD, the meetings are an opportunity to hear a range of ideas to inform development of its program guidelines. Within the framework established by SB 86 and AB 1053, the guidelines will determine important aspects of the program -- including the weight given to affordability in the ranking of proposals.
Don't pass up this opportunity to ensure voter-approved bonds accomplish our community's goal: an increased supply of homes affordable to lower-income Californians!
