Want to tell state legislators what you think about issues affecting homelessness and the development of affordable homes? Join other members of your community for Housing California's Lobby Day on Tuesday, April 29, 2008.
You can participate in the "Hot Topics" workshop at 1:50 p.m. to learn about this year's top issues, then meet with your elected representatives about:
- Changes to Density Bonus Law (AB 2280)
- A new supportive homes program for parolees with mental illnesses (SB 1651)
- The state budget, specifically appropriations for the Emergency Housing and Assistance Program, the Transit-Oriented Development Program, and the Infill Infrastructure Grant Program.
Demonstrate the strength of the affordable-home community. Become a lobbyist for a day!

Attend the Homes to End Homelessness Coalition Meeting
Become part of the rapidly growing statewide Homes to End Homeless Coalition. The coalition will meet from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. We will discuss legislation sponsored by the coalition (SB 1651), Housing and Community Development (HCD) Director Lynn Jacob's effort to develop a "permanent funding source" for affordable homes, and more!

Join the No on 98 / Yes on 99 Campaign
Tuesday's lunch plenary session will feature Brandon Castillo, a partner in the firm leading the No on 98/Yes on 99 campaign. Defeating Proposition 98 and passing Proposition 99 on the June ballot are high priorities for Housing California this year. (Learn more about the measures.)
