Bill Spotlight: AB 793 In Depth
June 25, 2008Assemblymembers Audra Strickland's AB 793 requires county assessors to consider any restrictions on the resale of property purchased through an affordable homeownership program when they determine the property tax. By explicitly placing this requirement into law, AB 793 will ensure that persons living in affordable homes are not overburdened with property-tax payments they cannot afford.
Housing California supports this measure, which will be heard in the Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee today.
