Bass Elected Next Assembly Speaker
March 4, 2008Assemblymember Karen Bass, D-Los Angeles, won last Thursday's vote to become the new Assembly Speaker. It is not yet clear when she will take over the post from Speaker Fabian Núñez.
Bass serves on the Assembly's housing committee and has demonstrated a strong commitment to homes for former foster youth.
