Advocates Sue Governor over AB 2034 Cut

Mental health advocates filed a lawsuit against Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on December 13, 2007, contesting his cut of $55 million in funding for the Integrated Services for Homeless Mentally Ill Adults Program (the AB 2034 program). The suit alleges that the cut violated Proposition 63 (the Mental Health Services Act of 2004), because the measure specifically prohibits the use of Prop. 63 funds to pay for services that were funded by the state prior to its passage.
