Prop. 1C Assembly Rollercoaster Rounds Another Corner

Sacramento advocates are suffering whiplash from the on-again, off-again status of Prop. 1C bills in the Assembly.

On April 5, 2007, the chairs of the assembly housing and local government committees decided to pull all bills affecting 1C's infill and innovative financing off the committee calendars. They cited the plethora of bills and myriad different approaches as reason to hold the bills until next year.

Bills dealing with 1C's parks and transit-oriented development money were left on the calendar.

However, authors of the stalled measures protested last week, leading to the bills being put back on the hearing calendar. All will be heard this week or next.
