The Santa Barbara Community Housing Corp. (SBCHC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe and affordable housing, including special-needs housing, for underserved individuals in southern Santa Barbara County. In addition to providing stable housing, it is the organization's goal to enhance each tenant's self-respect, personal motivation and future independence.
Job Description:
The Executive Director is the chief executive officer for SBCHC, responsible for managing the overall operations of the agency. This position is responsible for:
- Carrying out the policy direction of the board of directors.
- Managing SBCHC's relationships with its private/public partners, including the city of Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara County, state and federal agencies; corporate general and limited partnerships; affiliated nonprofit organizations; and constituency groups.
- Overseeing SBCHC's corporate performance of its mission.
- Supervising property, projects and program managers.
- Overseeing the agency's fiscal performance.
- Monitoring and reporting of grants.
Qualifications:
Minimum bachelor's degree and 10 years related experience, including progressively more responsible experience in management, real estate finance and non-profit development. Senior level management experience and experience managing complex organizations required. Relevant master's degree preferred. Excellent written and verbal communications skills required. Ability to train and direct a developing management team is critically important, as is a commitment to nonprofit development. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience, plus excellent fringe benefit package, including health, dental, life and disability insurance.
