Job Title: Project Manager Multifamily Real Estate Development
Job Description:
Community Housing is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to implement multifamily development projects from start to finish, with a focus on new construction.

We're a 40+ employee company that develops new apartment buildings and acquires and rehabilitates older ones across San Diego County, using conventional development skills plus the complicated tools of affordable housing finance.
The project manager must have experience developing multifamily residential projects: negotiating purchase agreements, selecting and managing a development team and the design process, overseeing land use and entitlement process, applying for funding and supervising a general contractor. The project manager must have strong financial competence and skills including the ability to run and manage multifamily pro formas, and to negotiate with lenders and investors. The project manager will implement existing projects and help identify new projects under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Housing and Real Estate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in business, planning, or a related field preferred. Certification in Real Estate Development by a recognized institution or agency may be substituted for up to two years education.
- Four years of demonstrated experience in managing the financing and development of residential real estate. Specific experience in a minimum of two of the following is strongly preferred; low-income/tax credits, multifamily, and/or market rate rental housing an/or finance.
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Advanced ability to use WORD/EXCEL/PowerPoint/MSProject software and strong demonstrated abilities in managing budgets and using spreadsheets.
- Ability to organize and schedule tasks in support of multiple deadlines and projects; detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must have access to automobile, valid auto insurance and have or obtain a valid California driver's license.
- Willingness to work in urban communities with diverse communities and workforce.
Compensation:
Starting salary $80,000+ depending on experience. We offer our staff competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits including paid vacation and leave, excellent medical and dental, life insurance, 401k plan. Unlike other parts of the development industry, our work load is stable and growing.
