Job Description:
The Lending Program Manager/Loan Processor works under the supervision of the Chief Operations Officer. He/she is responsible for the processing of loans, for the supervision of Neighborhood Housing Services Silicon Vally's (NHSSV) lending staff, and for monitoring the loan origination, processing and closing of each transaction. The Lending Program Manager/Loan Processor also assists and supports borrowers in completing the mortgage loan closing process.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Supervise all lending staff and activities to ensure the successful closing of each loan and compliance with State and federal regulations;
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of down payment assistance programs provided by local public and private agencies in the Silicon Valley;
- Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with lenders, builders, investors, public officials, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, and escrow officers involved with the organization’s mortgage assistance programs;
- Be knowledgeable of the current mortgage market and of subordinate financing resources;
- Administer NHSSV’s first mortgage and subordinate financing programs;
- Assist in collecting data through NHSSV’s computerized customer tracking system (NStep);
- Compile relevant information on production, and submit reports in a timely manner;
- Ensure that each file is originated and processed in accordance with the investor’s requirements;
- Assist in providing homebuyer education classes to prospective homeowners;
- Coordinate the loan closing process with NHSSV’s loan agents and loan processors to ensure a smooth and timely closing of each transaction;
- Be knowledgeable of all first and secondary financing programs utilized by the organization, and apply the appropriate eligibility criteria (credit, income, location, etc.) to each loan included in each loan package;
- Process mortgage assistance loan documents and oversee close of escrow on each transaction;
- Develop and maintain appropriate files on each participant and each down payment assistance transaction;
- Work with borrowers to resolve process and compliance problems as necessary;
- Assist borrowers in obtaining needed employment and credit documentation;
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s of Science degree or at least ten years experience in mortgage lending as a loan processor and/or underwriting; at least three years experience as a manager in a mortgage banking setting; experience in supervising and training lending staff; knowledgeable of federal and state lending regulations and compliance issues; knowledgeable of Fannie Mae/ Freddie Mac lending policies and procedures; experience in monitoring compliance; in-depth knowledge of loan processing, demonstrated skills in creating and maintaining loan files.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $87,500
