NEW! GENERAL SESSION SPEAKERS (and Author Book Signing!)
- Lynn Jacobs, Director, HCD -- We all agree that California needs a permanent source of funding for the state Housing Trust Fund, so we're pleased to welcome Housing and Community Development (HCD) Director Lynn Jacobs, who will provide an update on her efforts to develop a "permanent source" proposal for the governor.
- Michael Goldberg and Dick Brooks, Founders, ActionMedia -- The experts at ActionMedia are back to share the latest communications research on affordable homes. What does the latest research reveal? Does it support past research? How can we use these findings to "reframe" affordable homes and achieve our goals? You'll get the answers to all these questions.
- Brandon Castillo, Partner, Bicker, Castillo & Fairbanks -- We need YOU to help DEFEAT Prop 98 (the Landlord's Hidden Agenda Scheme) and WIN Prop. 99 (the Homeowners Protection Act). Originally planned as a workshop, we have elevated PR expert Brandon Castillo's presentation to a general session. Mr. Castillo will explain how we can all join the "NO on 98/YES on 99" campaign!
- Pete Earley, National Bestselling Author -- You'll be moved by Mr. Earley's personal story of his struggles to care for his son with mental illness in a system that is broken. You'll then be inspired as Mr. Early explains the importance of "homes with services" and the opportunities the Mental Health Services Act provides.
NEW! GET AN AUTOGRAPHED COPY OF PETE EARLEY'S BOOK! Stop by the Housing California Bookstore Wednesday at the conference, purchase Mr. Early's bestseller Crazy: A Father's Search Through America's Mental Health Madness -- one of two finalists for the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for nonfiction books, and get it autographed by Mr. Earley!
